Hypnotherapy

"Did you know that every time you say to yourself, 'I Can't do ...' you are negatively hypnotising yourself! Imagine what could happen if you change your self-talk to, 'I CAN do ...'!" ~ Sam Spiro

I specialise in helping people looking for profound self-growth using my unique form of Holistic Emotional, Spiritual & Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy

"Hypnotherapy" – most people still (wrongly) think it has something to do with making you bark like a dog against your will.

In the therapy room, it's nothing like that (i.e., Stage/Entertainment Hypnosis, and not the same as therapy). Hypnotherapy is like a massage for the mind, where you allow yourself to replace limiting thoughts, beliefs and images with those that uplift, empower and make you SMILE.

Good hypnotherapy should be powerful experience. A time just for you, to bond and become intimate with the workings of your own mind. You will always feel completely in control and aware. There is no chance of you ever getting stuck in Ancient Egypt (SMILE). And your memories cannot be erased. In fact, most people remember everything that happens during their sessions.

Most importantly, ANYONE can do it. Contrary to popular belief, everyone can be hypnotised to some extent. All you have to do is show up and be motivated to follow along with what you and your therapist agree to work on. It's an easy-to-follow process akin to floating off into meditation or a daydream, but with one main focus (ie, the issue you want to work on).

The benefits of modern Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy combine the best aspects of the long-used and accepted evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with Hypnotherapy. Both are recognised as being effective psychotherapeutic techniques by the British Psychological Society, etc, with the effects of both proven to be amplified when they are combined.

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, Spiritual & Emotional Holistic Hypnotherapy, the Sedona Method "Emotional Unsticking" One-To-One Coaching, teaching Mindfulness and Anxiety-Coping Techniques, and more.

I am also a trained and insured Reiki Master Teacher and Practitioner and combine cutting-edge Mindfulness, emotional release techniques with Reiki to achieve profound results – and the more cynical the client,  THE BETTER 🙂

My clients are brave and determined, and want to:

  • Face and accept their emotions, and stop torturing themselves
  • Develop strategies to cope with these emotions on their own
  • Improve their relationships and create positive new ones
  • Understand the reason for their reactions/triggers to others (adult-self versus child-self)
  • Feel able to leave a relationship or get over one
  • Move through grief and get to a place of acceptance
  • Understand their own sense of self, the root of being OK with aloneness
  • Face anxiety and understand its causes
  • Improve self-belief
  • Boost self-confidence
  • Boost feelings of worthiness, good enough, etc
  • Re-learn to relax
  • Try something new with my combined Reiki/emotional release sessions
  • REIGNITE THEIR OWN JOY

So How Does it Work?

  1. We start with a free call to discuss the issues and the changes you would like to achieve.
  2. We have an initial consultation (60-90 mins) to map out a treatment plan. We are both aware of the goals of therapy. As the client, you will understand your role in your own therapy.
  3. We agree on the homework that you are going to do between sessions – VITAL to Cognitive Behavioural Change!
  4. We discuss and agree on how many sessions it's likely to take (usually 3-6); we agree when the regular weekly sessions will take place (in person in London or sometimes via Skype; please ask about this on the free call).
  5. Sessions are usually 60 minutes or 90 minutes if we agree to this in advance. Please ask about Skype prices (depending on the issue; not all suitable for Skype).
  6. Combined Reiki/Emotional Release sessions are 90 minutes long.
  7. We agree when we will review how the therapy is progressing (usually half way through the sessions).
  8. When you feel you have achieved what you have intended to, we review again and agree if it's time to end.
